"Tried this to level a workshop floor, wow! did not expect such a good result, make sure you mix it well, use a power drill for certain and make sure it its "sloppy" but just spreads and finds its level, little trowelling to get it where the slopes did it and then your done, Mix and pour a bag every 5 minutes! I did add a dollop of water proof PVA to each mix. Probably not needed but might make it even better. Very hard to guess how much you need, ended up buying 5 bags in tow trips so missed special offer price."

  • Fantastic Product

Pros:  easy to use, perfect results
    Cons:  not cheap

"Oops, I mistakingly put in a review for latex floor leveller (224669), whereas this is the stuff I used. Wow, I can't believe the brilliant results using this product - and no, I'm not a Wickes employee, and have nothing to gain from promoting the stuff. It seems that back in 2010, it was getting bad reviews, but something's changed - either the instructions, or the ingredients. This was my first attempt at using a self-levelling compound, and it went on smoothly and easily. Admittedly, it was only the downstairs toilet, and it took under two minutes to pour out, and gently spread around. I started with the specified Wickes primer, and allowed it to dry for 30 minutes. This prevents rapid drying, and aids flow. I then mixed the whole bag of compound with exactly 4.5Lt of water (and no more) using a drill mixer and one of those huge yellow tubs (for at least two minutes). With some trepidation, I poured the product first to the right side of the room, and then the left, finishing at the doorway. It only needed a small amount of coaxing into the corners with a trowel (plasterers). I guess the more you pour on, the easier it flows. I went for about 5mm, but it should be good for 3 – 15mm. I wouldn’t hesitate at using this product again, but I guess a larger area requires careful planning in order to get all the mixture down without delay."

    Pros:  easy to use
Cons:  slight ripples but cant have it all

"If you follow the instructions to the letter (i must admit i didn't bother with the primer) then this stuff is pretty good. I covered about 10 sq metres with 3 bags, my floor was pretty level just rough as buggery so I applied it fairly thin, 3 mm is minimum for this product. All in all it did a good job."

  • Best floor levelling I have used

Pros:  does what it says on the tin, follow instructions fully
    Cons:  none

"Very good product. Flows and levels beautifully and can be helped with the back of a garden rake or float. Very few air bubbles to trowel out. Overlaid a rough concrete garage floor sction (5.0m x 3.2m) between 3mm and 10mm depth using the acryllic primer first. Whole job including drying time complete in 3.5 - 4 hours hours. Advise using gloves as the mix dries your hands out and it is essential to use a drill and paddle. If you could get someone to start the paddle whilst you pour the powder in to the water it would quicken the mixing process but otherwise no problem. Ensure you wash tools between mixes."
