    Value For Money

"the first pump I bought from another company was so loud that it was not suitable for a home environment. This pump is excellant value for money and although there is still some noise it is very quiet."

    Pros:  sturdy quiet and powerful
Cons:  not the same as the previous version, will need to rework existing pipe work

"This is a superb pump and I installed one of these about 14 years ago in our bathroom and it has worked brilliantly. A while ago it started playing up and decided to replace it with the same model as it is still in the Wickes catalogue and on the website. HOWEVER... Although the part number is the same as the previous one and the picture is the same, the new model looks different and has some differences to the old one. Firstly, the flexible connecting pipes are not only longer than the old ones, but the connectors are different. The old ones had a pipe tube at each end, but the new ones have a pipe at the pump end and a push fit socket at the other which means they do not fit directly with the existing pipe work. So either the existing pipe work has to have some work done to it, or the old flexible pipes have to be re-used. But the height of the new pump is slightly different to the old one, such that it is a bit of a squeeze getting the old pipes to fit. Also, the filters on the old pump are accessible and removable, but on the new pump they are not. To cap it all, the cable to connect it to the mains supply is slightly shorter than the old one meaning that it needed extending or replacing. This is a superb pump, and will give years of service, but if you are buying one to replace an old one, be aware that it is different."

    Value For Money

    Pros:  works well
    Cons:  must be run regularly.

"This pump must be used regularly .I installed this first about 7 years ago and it worked well. After thee years my wife took up a daily gym routine including showering so it did not get used. I can't shower for medical reasons.Soon after it seized due to muck on an impeller, and after cleaning worked well again. After six months it packed up completely. The motor had melted because a flow sensor fixing had become brittle (V Cold winter in loft!) and had fallen off. I have still bought another but will run weekly for a few minutes until hot to avoid the problem as well as doubly securing the sensor with duck tape."
