"Needed to plum a washing machine & dishwasher to a single valve & whilst this seemed expensive it seemed like a simple solution to get the job done. But it doesn't work! The 3/4" end doesn't form a seal, even with liberal use of washers & ptfe tap. Turns out you can get a compression tee brass which acts as both the value & t junction for less and it is a shame wicks don't stock these as I would certainly have made a different decision if I had seen these in store. I have since found identical fittings at about a 1/5 price. Bottom line. Too expensive for what it is, doesn't work as intended & better solution available for less if you look."
"Do not buy this product, it is not fit for purpose. The Y-piece is made from a low quality plastic which does not form a watertight seal to washing machine / dishwasher hose. Best case scenario - it works for a few days then floods your kitchen without warning. Buy a brass alternative from a plumbing specialist, with PTFE tape for a guaranteed watertight seal and no chance of the thread going."
"This product seems to be manufactured with sloppy tolerances (on the male threads at least). I was wary of this as a possibilty after reading scathing reviews of what appears to be a very similar or identical product on another well-known DIY store's webite. The issue is that the male threads seems to be too small in diameter, meaning that when you tighten the caps of the hoses on to the two outlet ports, you will probably find that the cap will get to a certain point of tightness and then slip and pop back off a bit. Under pressure, this looseness causes the hose to fly off and water to jet out of the inlet until you flick the water off at the valve/stopcock. It is possible to get a watertight, secure connection by applying a VERY GENEROUS amount of PTFE tape, more than I would generally bother to wrap around (I use it on all screw thread plumbing fittings). It may be that this Y-adapter uses a slightly different thread diameter (e.g. BSP vs NPT) than is standard on UK white appliances, but in any case it's not something I would recommend as it ONLY JUST works with a lot of PTFE tape, a normal amount of tape still resulted in a fully tightened hose flying off. I'm not entirely confident the connection is secure long-term, but should be ok for a while as long as the hoses are moved around too much (not likely as the dishwasher and washing machine are now in)."
