  • Good stuff!

    Value For Money

Pros:  read-mixed, versatile, easy to use
Cons:  none that i can think of...

"I'm now on tub no.3 of this stuff in my quest to get my (small) kitchen ready for the fitters. The entire kitchen was tiled so removing them left huge holes in the walls so I was faced with the task of filling them. This stuff is great and fitted my requirements. I was initially going to go down the route of buying bags of plaster and all of the bits and bobs that go with that, but since this is ready mixed it negated the need of having to do that. It comes out of the tub pretty dry and crumbly so I would recommend mixing a little water in with it which makes it much easier to use and less messy to apply. I've used it to fill deep cracks and holes, fill gaps between plasterboard joints and I'm going to use it to skim the walls! It also dries really quickly and is easy to sand down when required. Perfect!"

    Value For Money

    Pros:  none really if honest
Cons:  stiff, dry, loads up face of trowel/knife and won't flow, grainy

"I've been looking for plaster that isn't as coarse and as granular as undercoat or backing plaster that I could use a bit like a finishing plaster but without the hardness of a traditional finishing plaster. In it's bought state this isn't it. It's sticky and stiff, even in the tub, and doesn't flow off a stopping knife or trowel satisfactory so it is almost impossible to smooth out to a fine finish. It tends to snag and pill either on the tool or the surface you are using it on. It is still quite grainy. It is probably okay as a crack filler or for patching small areas of missing plaster but it is no good for covering medium or large areas. It's an awful lot of plaster in a bucket for that limited use. I've added water to it to cream it up in order to see if I can get some use out of it. Otherwise it's for filling in at the council dump. However, it is okay if you restrict your use of it as I suggest."

Pros:  easy to sand, relatively dust free
    Cons:  course texture

"Being ready mixed makes this plaster very convenient, it will fill deep cavities but when used at at maximum thickness does take a couple of days to harden. It has a course texture making a smooth finish quite difficult to achieve, it is however very easy to sand without clogging the abrasive paper or making excessive dust."
