DIY Hints & Tips
- When measuring the area of the floor you want to cover, add 10% for wastage.
- Prior to laying laminate or real wood flooring, storing it in your house will allow it to acclimatise to room temperature and prevent it expanding or contracting during installation.
- The direction you lay flooring can help make a room look larger than it actually is. Laying laminate flooring across a room will make it seem wider.
- Cut on the underside of tiles to avoid any chips or scratches on the shown side.
- If you decide to leave your skirting in place when fixing laminate flooring, treat it as the wall edge, and add an extra piece of laminate edging to the bottom of the skirting board.
