Energy Saving Tips

  • Turn your thermostat down. Reducing your room temperature by 1ºC could cut your heating bills by up to 10 percent. You could save around £60 per year
  • Close your curtains when it gets dark. This will stop heat getting out through your windows.
  • Use energy saving lightbulbs - they last up to 10 times longer than ordinary bulbs. Using one can save you around £55 over the bulb's lifetime.
  • If you have cavity walls, insulating them could save you around £135 a year on fuel bills.
  • Newly insulating your loft can save around £175 and around 720kg of carbon dioxide a year.
  • Don't leave electrical appliances on standby. Also, remember not to leave laptops and mobile phones on charge unnecessarily.
