New Government Incentive Schemes have made it a financially attractive option to install a Wickes Solar Power System.

We have 2 systems currently available; The Wickes Solar PV Electricity System and The Wickes Solar Hot Water System.

The Wickes Solar PV Electricity System

The Wickes Solar PV electricity system uses solar energy to create FREE electricity.
This can be used in your home, or exported to the National Grid and will be paid for
by your electricity provider through the Feed in Tariff. (FiT)

Some key benefits of the Wickes Solar Electricity System:

  • Generate up to 50% of your electricity needs*
  • Save £115 in your annual electricity bills from year 1*
  • Earn £771 in tax free Feed in Tariff from year 1*
  • Reduce your CO2 emissions
  • Improve your home's Energy Performance Certificate
  • Enjoy tax free profit of nearly £20,000 over the 25 year life of the FiT*

* All figures based on a 2.1KWp system. Larger systems will save more.

Government Incentive Schemes

As part of the government's policy to encourage the use of renewable sustainable energy they have introduced an incentive to make it financially attractive to install Solar PV electrical systems. This is called the Feed-in Tariff (FiT). To find out more, visit The Energy Saving Trust Feed-in Tariff Guide.

The government has also proposed a scheme to support the installation of Solar Hot Water systems, but this is still under consultation. To find out more, visit The Energy Saving Trust Renewable Heat Incentive Guide.
