We don’t recommend you laser cut polycarbonate sheets as that could cause an uneven finish on edges, char or discolour the material, and may release harmful fumes. You should use a table saw, circular saw with a fine tooth blade, jigsaw or a CNC router for clean, safe cutting. 

How many screws per polycarbonate sheet?

Generally, you’ll need between 10-20 screws per roofing sheet, but this can vary on the size of the sheet and spacing of the supporting purlins.

How strong is a polycarbonate sheet?

They’re known for their excellent strength. They hold 200-250 times more impact resistance than glass of the same thickness, as well as 20-30x more than acrylic sheets. That’s why they’re deemed as a good choice for roofing, skylights and safety glazing as they can withstand heavy impacts without shattering.

How do you clean a polycarbonate roof?

All you need is a soft sponge or microfibre cloth soaked in warm water and mild soap. Simply wash the roof in circular motions and then rinse it thoroughly with clean water. Never use abrasive pads as these can damage the surface.

Can I paint a polycarbonate roof?

Yes, it’s possible to paint a polycarbonate roof but it’s not recommended due to potentially impacting light transmission and UV protection. It’s also likely that paint will peel over time as adhesion isn’t strong.
