A threshold bar is a strip, usually made of wood or metal, which covers the gap across doorways where two different floor types meet. This allows you to create a seamless flow between different flooring heights and materials.
How do you cut a threshold bar?
While threshold bars are available in a range of sizes, you may need to cut your bar to ensure it fits in your doorway. Start by measuring your doorway and recording the desired length of bar. Next, use a hacksaw ormitre saw(depending on the material and thickness) to cut your threshold bar to size. For the cleanest cut, and for safety, keep the bar secured to your table or workbenchusing a clamp.
