FAQs
What is a kitchen upstand?
A kitchen upstand refers to a short, vertical panel that’s fitted along the edge of a worktop where it meets the wall. This protects the wall from splashes, spills and moisture caused by cooking while creating a clean finish.
Are kitchen upstands old fashioned?
No, kitchen upstands are still used in modern homes because they seamlessly blend in the worktop and walls for a cohesive look.
Can you put upstands over tiles?
Yes, it’s possible to install upstands over tiles; however, we’d not recommend it because the idea of an upstand is to create a neat, flush finish and tiles could leave you with gaps or unevenness.
