Top jobs for spring
As the weather starts to improve and the days get longer, it’s time to get out in the garden, as customers will want their outdoor spaces ready for the summer. Here are the top jobs that customers are looking to get done at this time of year.
Garden maintenance is the top job to be doing at this time of year, as customers start to get their outdoor spaces ready to enjoy in the warmer summer months. As the weather warms up, the ground will begin to soften up, making it ideal for planting. In March 2022, the amount of garden maintenance and garden landscaping projects undertaken by home improvers significantly increased, up 35% since Feb 2022. It’s a good idea to show your clients the Wickes range of plants, seeds and trees, so that they can think about what they might like. Don’t forget that we also have an extensive range of compost and topsoil, plus all the lawn care and plant food needed for the job.
Another big job that customers will be interested in in the garden is getting the lawn into shape. This could be as simple as adding some lawn feed or seed, but if more intensive care is required, we have a range of scarifiers. You could also look at laying down fresh turf or even an artificial lawn.
If your customers are looking to do a big extension job, spring is usually the time when they start, again because the ground is now soft enough to dig up. This could range from an outbuilding such as a timber shed, plastic shed or summerhouse, to a greenhouse or even a large kitchen extension. Wickes has all the materials, insulation and tools you’ll need for the job.
Although the days are getting lighter, there’s still the possibility of snow or storms. If that does happen, we have a wide range of suitable products, starting with rock salt. Storms can result in flooding, so we have a range of flood protection products such as sandbags, plus pumps to help with cleanup. All year round we have a wide range of fence panels, from the very basic to beautifully designed statement pieces.
