Induction allows for precise temperature control when cooking or simmering. Heat is only generated when the pan comes into direct contact with the specific cooking zone, ensuring safety in the presence of children. This helps optimise power consumption, only using the energy needed to heat the pan itself. With Multizone operation the cooking zones can be used as two independent cooking zones or combined into a single zone. Each zone automatically adapts to the size and position of the dishes and is heated only where the pans are set down, providing better heat distribution. Each zone features a slider control panel which allows the user to adjust the heat level by simply running a finger across the touch surface. Auto-Vent 2.0 allows the hob to issue commands to a connected Smeg cooker hood. The cooker hood will automatically adjust its extraction speed to match the hob settings and pan temperature. Auto-Vent 2.0 can only be used when combined with a Smeg Auto-Vent 2.0 hood.
