Cooker Hoods
A cooker hood is an essential part of any kitchen, removing steam and smoke from the air for safety purposes and to prevent any lingering odours. With removable filters and high-power extraction, a cooker hood with an extractor fan is the best way to keep your kitchen a welcoming environment. Plus, newer models from AEG and SMEG offer built-in lights and reduced noise to maximise your kitchen’s functionality.

FAQs
How do you clean a cooker hood filter?
To clean a cooker hood filter, first switch off the hood and remove the filter. If the filter is dishwasher safe, place it on the top rack of the dishwasher and simply wash the cooker hood filter with the rest of your dishes.
If it’s not dishwasher-safe, you’ll have to wash it by hand. To manually wash a cooker hood filter, submerge the filter in hot, soapy water and leave it to soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Then, use a soft sponge to gently scrub the filter before allowing it to air dry before inserting it back into the hood.
How do you clean a cooker extractor hood?
You can easily clean a cooker extractor hood by using a soft cloth or sponge and a neutral cleaning detergent to wipe away any surface grease or dirt. For glass cooker hoods, you should remove the glass if possible, placing it on a covered, soft surface to avoid scratches. Once again, use a natural detergent to clean the glass cooker hood before using a household glass cleaner to leave it shining.
Where should you place a cooker hood?
For induction and electric hobs, the cooker hood should be placed at least 650mm above the hob. For gas hobs, your cooker hood should be at least 750mm from the hob. The cooker hood should be placed centrally, covering as much of your hob as possible.
