How do you clean a waste disposal unit?
Before cleaning a waste disposal unit, ensure that you’ve read the manufacturer's instructions to understand the recommended cleaning process. You should also ensure that the unit is switched off at the breaker box before cleaning.
Most waste disposal units can be cleaned by pouring bicarbonate of soda down the drain into the disposal, followed by roughly 100ml of white vinegar. Allow the mixture to fizz for 10 to 15 minutes before pouring water down the drain to rinse away any residue.
