Find out more:
Your local kitchen and bathroom Design Consultants are ready to answer any questions you may have about your kitchen or bathroom project in your initial appointment; whether that's in regard to style options, information on our installation service, examples of the quality of our ranges or any other help you need with the process.
Once your Design Consultant has accurate measurements of your space and understands your product choices, you'll be invited to see a 3D render of your new space, receive an itemised quote and have the opportunity to make any adjustments to your design before placing your order. Throughout the process, you’ll work closely together to create a space that’s uniquely yours, which works for you and your home.
We offer full transparency on our UK-wide kitchen and bathroom design services; from the initial design concept to the installation process, as we get to know your vision, needs and budget.
From start to finish, how long does the design process take?
The entire design process typically takes a couple of weeks, from the initial conversation to receiving your finalised plans. It begins with either an in-person appointment in one of our 225+ showrooms or a home visit, which is where you'll discuss your initial design ideas and style preferences with a Wickes Design Consultant.
Can I use the design service without going ahead with installation?
Yes, we offer a free design service from one of our expert Design Consultants to help you design a space to suit your style and budget. We can then arrange for your order to be delivered to your home on a suitable date, ready for an installer of your choice to fit.
What questions will be asked in the appointment?
During your consultation, your Design Consultant will get an understanding of your lifestyle, your ideal room layout, your design preferences and budget to build a tailored 3D plan for your space. They’ll start by discussing your current room, focusing on what you like and dislike about your current setup, how your household uses the space and your practical storage needs.
Next, they’ll get an understanding of your style preferences, covering everything from the style of door to the backsplash, your ideal colour palette and preferred finishes for your worktops, handles and taps. You’ll also discuss must-have appliances or bathroom fixtures, along with practical details like lighting and socket placements.
Finally, your Design Consultant will keep your project running smoothly. This includes discussing your target budget, ideal timeline and whether you would like to use our full installation service or if you plan to use an independent fitter.
Can I change my design appointment?
Yes, you can easily reschedule your appointment to a convenient time via the link in your booking confirmation email.
How can I prepare for my design appointment?
To get the most out of your appointment, it helps to have an idea of styles that inspire you first. Our kitchen matchmaker tool or bathroom matchmaker tool can help you make these crucial decisions and then your results can be easily shared with your Design Consultant so they know what you like before you meet. If you're coming into one of our showrooms for your appointment, it’s helpful to bring basic measurements of your room (including locations of any doors and windows). Lastly, having a rough idea of your budget also helps our Design Consultants recommend the right ranges, appliances and finishes for you.
Why should I trust Wickes with my project?
We’re proud to offer an award-winning design and installation service you can trust. We are winners of several kitchen and bathroom awards at the Ideal Home Awards 2026, we’re proud of our rating on Trustpilot and also hold accreditations from the British Institute of Fitted Interiors Specialists (BIFIS) and The Institute of Customer Service.
