Spring 2025 brings bold colours, rich textures and a fresh approach to design. Colour drenching makes a statement, while double drenching adds depth with contrasting hues. Maximalism embraces personality, while organic modern interiors blend nature with contemporary style. And with Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Mocha Mousse, to warm up interiors, there’s no better time for customers to refresh their space with new trends.

Pantone colour of the year

Mocha Mousse is Pantone’s colour of the year. It’s an unpretentious classic, while remaining sophisticated and lush. Mocha Mousse extends our perception of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace the aspirational and luxe. It’s subtle elegance and earthy refinement; it adds a discreet and tasteful touch of glamour while also being warm. Its versatility makes it a brilliant backdrop for both traditional and contemporary spaces, pairing beautifully with neutrals, muted pastels, and even bolder tones like deep navy or forest green. It’s a colour that invites relaxation, making it ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and cosy corners alike. At Wickes, the nearest colours in our range are Wickes Driftwood, CRAFTED™ by Crown Textured Chocolate™ (shown here) and Dulux Heart Wood.

Colour drenching is progressing to double drenching

Double drenching is the new trend. Double drenching focuses on using two or more colours together. The key is to select two bold colours. Take a look at the new Wickes paint colour card for ideas, or, in stores where Dulux paint mixing is available, compare paint chip cards to see what will work together.  The image here shows Crown Rhubarb Rose™ and Collage™.

Organic modern living

In 2024 on Houzz, many search terms associated with this style increased year over year, including “organic modern bedroom” (up 245%), “organic modern dining room” (146%) and “organic modern kitchen” (97%). As the name implies, this style encompasses natural, organic, materials, colours and shapes used in a modern way. Think natural stone and wood, creamy off-white tones, natural upholstery such as linen and rounded shapes like arches and curves. Maximalist styles

Minimalist spaces are out, and maximalist spaces are in. Pinterest Predicts report suggests Gen X and Boomers will mix and match brilliantly bold patterns, eclectic prints and textures. They’re likely to want to use every colour out there in the process. In 2024 we saw eclectic colours rise in popularity and in 2025 we may see those block colours transform into or combined with eclectic patterns.
