TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE WICKES HOME OFFICE AWARDS 2021 COMPETITION
Information on how to enter the Wickes Home Office Awards 2021 form part of these Terms and Conditions:
- Participation in this promotion via image submission or other connected interaction is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
- By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you have any questions, please contact wickes@clarioncomms.co.uk.
- Failure to comply with any part of these clauses will disqualify the entry from the promotion.
- The Promoter(s) are Wickes Building Supplies Limited, 19 Colonial Way, Watford, WD24 4JL and Clarion Communications, The Johnson Building, 77 Hatton Garden, London, EC1N 8JS.
- Entrants will automatically be entered into the awards by uploading an image of their working from home space with them in it to the following social media channels: Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. On Facebook, entrants must upload an image as a ‘comment’ on the competition launch post, which will be posted on the Wickes Business Facebook page on Monday 19th April. On Instagram, the post must be uploaded to the users channel as a grid post. Instagram stories will not be accepted. All entries of imagery must be shared with #WickesHomeOfficeAwards. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any lost or misdirected entries. All entries must be made from public social accounts.
- Entrants should only enter once on one social media channel.
- The competition will run between 07:00 on Monday 19th April 2021 and 23.59 on Monday 17th May 2021 (inclusive). Entries received after this date will not be accepted.
- The prize fund is £1,750 in total: £1,000 in Wickes vouchers for the overall winner deemed Best Home Office 2021, and £150 in Wickes vouchers for each of the five shortlisted runner ups. The vouchers will be valid for 24 months from issue or the last transaction. Five shortlisted runner-up awards will be for one of each of the below:
- The Minimalist Master Award – A working from home set up that makes the best use of minimal space. This could be in the bedroom wardrobe, under the stairs, making use of alcoves or simply an innovative use of pull-down desks etc.
- Best Interior and Mindful Design Award – An office space that is styled with colour and fun accessories and, whilst looking great, is mindful of comfort and wellbeing
- Cleaning Up in the Kitchen Award – A working from home space created within the kitchen
- The Sensational Shed Award – A working from home space located within a garden outbuilding, converted shed or external space outside of the home
- The Savviest Set-Up – A functional working space which has been designed and created with a small budget
- The winners of each of the five categories and one overall winner will be awarded by the independent judging panel over a virtual call w/c 24th May 2021. Their decision is final. The judges reserve the right to withdraw or transfer any of the Awards at their absolute discretion. The Winners may be required to submit valid identification and proof of age prior to receiving the Prize.
- The judging panel will consist of presenter Phil Spencer, presenter Ben Hillman and an Account Manager from Clarion Communications who does not work on the Wickes brand.
- The prize is non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-changeable.
- The Promoter(s) reserve the right in its absolute discretion to substitute another prize of similar or greater value.
- The copyright to all material assembled by the Promoter of the Awards will remain with the Promoter and may be used for the purpose of publicising the Awards via their social media channels and within the national, regional and trade press where appropriate.
- By entering this competition, all entrants agree for their entries to be published via social media channels and within the national, regional and trade press where appropriate. All shortlisted runners-up and winners must be prepared to take part in all publicity related to the competition.
- The winner and shortlisted runners-up will be required to be photographed with their working from home space when they receive their prize. This will be managed in accordance with all relevant social distancing measures as required.
- Only those persons who are a resident in the UK and aged 18 or over are eligible to enter this competition.
- Employees of the Promoter (Wickes Building Supplies Limited and Clarion Communications), any of the Promoter’s agencies and any of their parent, subsidiary and/or affiliate companies as well as their immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible to enter. The Promoter reserves the right to verify entrants’ eligibility.
- By participating in the competition, entrants fully and unconditionally agree to and accept these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of the Promoter, which are final and binding in all matters related to the competition.
- The winners will be notified by the Promoter using their social media handle, and within 21 days after the competition closing date.
- Prizes will be dispatched to the winners at a suitable time, agreed between the Promoter and the winners and within 21 days of them being notified of their win.
- In the event that any of the winners do not make contact for any reason within seven days of being notified of their win, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner where required. The Promoter will not be responsible for any inability to contact a winner.
- Details of the winners will be available by writing to Wickes Building Supplies Limited, 19 Colonial Way, Watford, WD24 4JL and Clarion Communications, The Johnson Building, 77 Hatton Garden, London, EC1N 8JS.
- Any entry from a person under the age of 18 will be disqualified. The Promoter’s decision is final.
- The Promoter reserves the right to amend or withdraw this competition if circumstances arise which are beyond its control.
- The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the operation of the competition or to be acting in violation of these Terms and Conditions or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person deliberately to undermine the legitimate operation of the competition may be a violation of criminal and civil law and, should such an attempt be made, the Promoter reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Promoter’s failure to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Information collected from entrants will only be used for the purposes of entry, issuing the prize into the competition and as laid out in clause 14 and 15. The Promoters will hold your personal information jointly as controllers in accordance with their privacy policies (available here: https://www.wickes.co.uk/privacy and http://clarioncomms.co.uk/clarion-internet-privacy-policy-september2020 and shall implement and maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures in compliance with the GDPR and any other applicable law.
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
- This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. You are providing your information to the Promoter and not to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Entrants agree that Facebook, Instagram or Twitter shall have no liability in respect of this activity.
