How do you attach gate hinges?
Attaching gate hinges is simple; all you need to do is position them at your desired height on the gate and post, mark the screw holes, drill into them and then secure them with screws. Make sure the gate is level, and it swings freely.
Where do you place hinges on a gate?
We recommend placing your hinges around 6 inches from the top of the gate, and another 6 inches from the bottom. If you need a third hinge for heavier gates, centralise it between the top and bottom hinges for extra stability.
Which side do hinges go on a gate?
What side of a gate you install hinges onto is down to where you’ll want the gate to swing from. They’re usually mounted to the gate post on the opening side.
