Engineered Wood Flooring
Frequently Asked Questions
Engineered wood flooring is a versatile and practical option for your home, without the costs or installation typically involved with solid wood flooring. Whether you’re renovating your property or installing a contemporary flooring look for the first time, engineered wood is an affordable choice for a luxury and timeless result.
What is engineered wooden flooring?
A smooth veneered top layer of solid wood is bonded to under-core base layers, to offer advanced stability and resistant properties over those of solid wood flooring. This innovative technology makes engineered flooring an excellent option for areas where temperature and humidity changes often occur, such as your kitchen, conservatory or basement.
Created with practicality and durability in mind, engineered timber flooring is easy to clean and can be sanded back and re-finished, just like real wood. It’s hard-wearing enough to be compatible with underfloor heating, making your home even cosier in those cooler months.
What styles of engineered wooden flooring are available?
Engineered wood flooring has all of the rich textures and colour variations of solid wood and comes in a range of finishes, from light American engineered oak flooring to dark and dusky tones. If you’re not sure which colour of flooring to choose, we have a range of engineered wood flooring samples which are the ideal way to find the perfect flooring for your room.
How quick is it to install engineered wood flooring?
Get great looking results in a weekend with the simple click and fit laying system, which can be installed over most clean, dry and level subfloors. If your subfloors need a little extra attention or your current underlay needs refreshing, we have a wide range of subfloor general purpose underlay to choose from.

What is the best way to remove smells from a kitchen sink?
Unpleasant odours coming from your sink are usually caused by a build-up of food waste in the sink waste pipe. To remove odours and clean your sink’s waste pipe, start by pouring bicarbonate of soda down the drain, followed by vinegar. Allow the mixture to fizz while you boil the kettle. After roughly 10 minutes, pour the boiling water down the drain to flush out the sink.
How do you clean a kitchen sink drain?
To effectively clean your kitchen sink drain, start by cleaning the outside of the drain using a cloth and household disinfectant. For a deeper clean, you can turn off your water and disconnect your sink’s waste pipe, using a cloth to clean the underside of the drain.
How do you seal a kitchen sink to a countertop?
To seal a kitchen sink to your countertop, first secure the sink in place and attach any taps or pipes. Then use a silicone sealant to run a bead of silicone along the back edge of the sink. Smooth down the sealant for a secure, watertight finish.
